Riot Fest 2024 is returning to Chicago’s Douglass Park after initially planning to move to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview. This reversal was announced on Wednesday (14th) following successful negotiations between festival organizers, the Chicago Park District, and city officials. Originally, Riot Fest had announced its departure from Douglass Park due to unresolved conflicts over issues like park access and noise. However, overwhelming support from the community and the city led to renewed discussions and an agreement that brought the festival back to its long-standing home in North Lawndale.
Set to take place from September 20-22, Riot Fest 2024 will feature a lineup headlined by Fall Out Boy, Beck, and a reunion performance by Slayer. Attendees can also look forward to full album sets from The Offspring, Manchester Orchestra, Lamb of God, and Mastodon. The festival, which has been a staple in Douglass Park since 2015.
