Foo Fighters have replaced Pantera at this year’s Rock AM Ring and Rock IM Park festivals in Germany this June.
Foo Fighters expressed their excitement, stating:
“Germany – we’ll see you Friday, June 2nd at Rock am Ring and Sunday, June 4th at Rock im Park! Tickets are on sale now.”
The replacement wasn’t over any scheduling conflicts. Festival organizers decided to remove them from the bill following the alleged controversy surrounding the return of the Texas groove metal icons. Yesterday (24th), the organizers addressed the following (translated via Facebook):
“Pantera will not be performing at Rock am Ring and Rock in the Park 2023, as announced. In the last few weeks, we have had many intensive conversations with artists, our partners and you, the festival fans, we have continued to deal with the criticism together and decided to remove the band from the program.”
The event has also added acts Bad Wolves, Five Finger Death Punch, Steel Panther, and more, as the organizers announced earlier today (25th) with the following (translated via Facebook):
“It’s an event: The Foo Fighters are playing exclusively at Rock on the Ring and Rock in the Park! The two festival appearances will be the only European headline shows by the American multi-platinum rock band 2023.
Also new: Bad Wolves, Blonde, Cari Cari, Die Nerves, Five Finger Death Punch, MOD SUN, Pabst, Sam Tompkins, Steel Panther, Thees Uhlmann & Band and Yonaka”
