Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Avaland’s Adrien G. Gzagg as he’s been spending this time preparing for their new album, Theater Of Sorcery, out April 2nd (pre-order here).
What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?
We listened to a lot of music, prepared for our new album, and I also organized our videoclips.
Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?
We have a playlist on Spotify with many bands that inspire us. My personal preferences, during quarantine, besides Avantasia, Ayreon and Alan Parsons Project (my principal influences), I listened to a lot of Myrkur, Night Flight Orchestra, Seven Spires and DGM last albums.
A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?
I love baking pastry at 3:00 am when I have a sleepless night! And I love cooking various things in general so I was able to make a lot during quarantine! I love being French for this, we have such great cuisine!
In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?
I watched and read a lot of fantasy movies, series and books. I also read many World History books.
What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?
Take care of yourself and the people you love, be careful with this shitty virus, be curious and try things you never dared before (painting, music, cooking, writing). And be courageous, I hope these troubling times will finally end soon!
