Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
Last night, news broke that Riley Gale, frontman of Power Trip, had
died at age 34. I was shocked, as I’m sure many of you were. Power Trip have garnered a strong rapidly growing following since the started and particularly after the release of their acclaimed sophomore album
Nightmare Logic. Speaking personally, “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Ax)” has a been a staple on my workout playlist since it came out. I wouldn’t be surprised if the band sees a spike in album sales, such is the sad reality of musicians dying. Whether or not Power Trip continues as a band, we’ll all remember Gale as a powerful vocalist gone way too soon.
