Corey Taylor previously talked about Stone Sour’s hiatus back in June while on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation” but has now confirmed that the band is on indefinite hiatus on the The Green Room with Neil Griffiths. Taylor goes into detail citing that all members talked about it and are all doing their own thing, so it’s only right to put the band on hiatus.
“I feel like Stone Sour has kinda run its course for now. We all talked as a band and decided to kinda put Stone Sour in indefinite hiatus. That’s the way it is. We’ve put it on the shelf for now. Everyone’s kind of going and doing their own thing.”
The frontman also confirmed that once touring picks up again, a full touring cycle will be held for his solo project, CMFT.
“As soon as the coast is clear, we are absolutely coming back. Next year will probably be [Slipknot] wrapping up that touring cycle, and then after that I’ll be hitting the road with the solo thing.”
In Slipknot related news, Chris Fehn’s replacement aka “Tortilla Man” identity was accidentally revealed on the band’s official UK merch store, Digital Stores. In the description for the new Slipknot face mask, “Pfaff Neck Gaiter Face Cover” was written and confirms the theory that Michael Pfaff is the newest member in Slipknot. It has since been removed from the description.
The band is now taking pre-orders for their new maks here.
