Why does Alice Cooper still rock? While a majority of artists would dress up in their finest clothing for an event celebrating arguably one of music’s highest honors, Cooper said “to hell with that!” Covered in his trademark eye makeup, Cooper not only accepted his induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with a blood stained tuxedo shirt, but with a yellow boa constrictor around his neck. That’s one way to ensure that the relatively older audience won’t mistake you for Neil Diamond (also inducted into the Hall Of Fame this year). The only thing that was probably more shocking for those in attendance was seeing Cooper, Diamond, Darlene Love, Bruce Springsteen, Bette Midler, Elton John, and Leon Russell singing “Da-Doo-Run-Run” together (yup, that actually happened as well).

While the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony actually took place on March 14 in New York City, it aired exclusively on Fuse TV last night (March 20). In addition to performing “I’m Eighteen” and “Under My Wheels,” Cooper and the original group (with Steve Hunter filling in for late guitarist Glen Buxton) performed “School’s Out” with Rob Zombie and a kids choir from the Ronald McDonald House. Video of the performance can be seen above.

You can also check out video of Rob Zombie inducting the Alice Cooper Band into the Hall Of Fame, as well as the band’s acceptance speech, after the jump. In case you missed it last night, an encore of the ceremony will air this Thursday (March 24) on Fuse TV at 5pm and 10pm PST.
