Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Orphans of Doom guitarist Bryan Sedey as he’s been spending this time thinking about the direction for their next album.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Most of us are fortunate to still be working but in the downtime brushing up on our music theory, writing riffs and thinking about the direction of the next album. Mantooth started his own guitar building company! Mantooth Guitars. We are really excited to watch him start that journey.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

We have really been into listening to bands discography in order of release lately. Megadeth, Metallica, Dio, Soundgarden. It’s a fun way to listen to something with new ears and maybe find something we missed in our youth or maybe listen to an album we may have passed over. On the more recent releases, I’ve been listening to LLNN, Old Man Gloom and trying to listen to more modern prog metal.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

I pretty much just eat Yogurt, Granola, Chicken and vegetables. Not a lot has changed for me. Well the occasional frozen pizza….

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

Well I never have watched much TV but that has changed with the quarantine. I got caught up with the latest 2 seasons for Trailer Park Boys ( a band favorite), The Rome documentary on Netflix, and watched the craziness that is the Tiger King. Still not sure how I felt about that one.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Keep a positive outlook and clear perspective. Too often we let outside influences dictate this.
