Unless you’ve been literally isolating yourself from any form of media or human interaction, then you’ve already heard about the tsunami that occurred this past weekend in Japan. In addition to all of the lives that have been lost since Friday, the 8.9-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami also caused an explosion at a nuclear power plant, with police afraid that a second explosion has occurred as of yesterday. Apparently, Masscore metallers All That Remains were touring in Japan during the horrific events. While the band and their crew appear to be safe, they are obviously shaken.

On Saturday, frontman Phil Labonte appeared on CNN to share his experience during the earthquake and tsunami. In addition, Labonte gave the Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy Blog an exclusive editorial recalling his experience. You can read his blog posting online, while you can watch a clip of Labonte’s CNN appearance above. Our thoughts are with Japan and those who have been affected by this disaster.
