If you haven’t seen the Vice Films documentary Heavy Metal In Baghdad, you really should. Especially if you’re one of those guys who makes a Facebook page for your local band’s show and whines that it’s not enough to get signed or put on a tour.

The film follows Iraqi band Acrassicauda and the struggles that obviously come with playing our favorite abrasive, offensive (and American) style of music in their war-torn country. They literally risked their lives every time they tried to organize a show or even walk around with a Metallica shirt on. The band is now living in New Jersey and working on some demos for an upcoming release (oops, SPOILER ALERT – lulz). But seriously, watch the film below and take some stock of how lucky you are.

Thanks to our brosefs at Metal Injection for finding the free streaming goodness.
