Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
I remember when Soundgarden came back. I was still a little kid when they first broke up, but when I started making my way through the realm of hard rock/metal, I, like many, was quite taken with “Black Hole Sun.” I listened to them the most out of the Seattle four and wondered if I would ever see them back together. So I was pretty stoked when things got up and rolling again in 2010. I remember hearing “Live To Rise” at the end of The Avengers. I remember when “Been Away For Too Long” was released as the first single for King Animal. I remember having opportunities to see them on tour and never being able to. Now, after Chris Cornell’s death and the subsequent disbandment, it’s strange to not only see a live album on here, but one that was recorded when the band was just beginning to breath new life.
You may have noticed there were no charts last week so I’ve made sure to note debut numbers for big albums like Sabaton as well as this weeks numbers.
