The upcoming two festivals Louder Than Life and Monster Energy Aftershock will both feature a special tribute set to the late Pantera/HELLYEAH drummer Vinnie Paul. Jose Mangin of SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal will be hosting the Vinnie Paul All Star Tribute for both events. On September 29th, at the Louder than Life, there will be guest performances from members of Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, HELLYEAH, Sevendust, GWAR, Bullet for My Valentine, Body Count, Kyng, Cane Hill and more.
Meanwhile, on October 13th at Aftershock, there will be performances from members of KoRn, Godsmack, Deftones, HELLYEAH, Shinedown, Sevendust, GWAR, Kyng, Emmure and more. Both sets will include performances of Pantera and Damageplan songs.
Mangin commented:
“Vinnie is an idol turned big time friend, and he left a massive void on this earth. When Danny [Wimmer] and Gary [Spivack] asked me to put together something special for Vin, I knew the best way to pay tribute to him would be to throw a Texas-sized jam session belting out Pan-mutha-fukkin-tera songs loud & proud! Everyone involved is doing this because they love Vinnie, and together we can all carry on his name, music and spirit forever!”
Vinnie Paul was found dead in his Las Vegas home on June 22nd at the age of 54. He suffered from an enlarged heart and his cause of death was from natural causes.
