It’s been quite a journey for Life of Agony. From Brooklyn hardcore band with an iconic first album (1993’s River Runs Red), to increasingly more commercial band. Singer Keith Caputo leaving the band to be replaced by Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane. The band breaking up for a while. Caputo transitioning from Keith Caputo to female as Mina Caputo. Signing with a new label, Napalm, and putting out last year’s A Place Where There’s No Pain, A new drummer, Veronica Bellino. And Wednesday and yesterday, coming full circle to play two sold-out shows in Brooklyn, this time at Saint Vitus, a bar that didn’t exist the last time they put out a record before last year’s. While the two shows weren’t without incident (we heard there was fighting the first night), they were a triumphant return to Brooklyn for the band. And while we missed but heard good things about openers The Pain Method, Melinda Oswandel was there the second night to capture LOA in their glory.
