The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Benjamin Weinman’s day gig is coming to an end in just over a month. The guitarist and founder of the band will have time to concentrate on projects outside of DEP, which he did last year with Giraffe Tongue Orhcestra. And while that side project, which included members of Mastodon and Alice In Chains, might not be able to play and tour all the time, he’s an accomplished enough musician that he can do whatever he wants. And sometimes that’ll mean joining The Prodigy onstage at a festival in Hong Kong.

On Saturday, at Hong Kong’s Cockenflap Fetival (ed note: uh, huh huh ), Wenman joined the industrial/electronic act, filling in for live guitarist/bassist Rob Holliday. It’s interesting to see him branching out and filling in for someone, and should he want to do that, he could be one of the most in-demand session/fill-in guys in heavy music once Dillinger take their final bow next month.
