hatestorm

Halestorm is one of those bands that you might not get until you hear them live. There are probably some metal fans still pissed that they picked up a Grammy back in 2013 for Metal and Hard Rock Performance for “Love Bites (So Do I)” over Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Megadeth, Lamb of God and Marilyn Manson. However, they’re unabashed fans of both metal and hard rock, and Lzzy Hale’s voice is phenomenal.

The band will be releasing the annoyingly-spelled ReAniMate 3.0: The CoVeRs EP on January 6th, the first release date of the new year. The EP kicks off with a cover of Whitesnake’s 1987 anthem “Still of the Night,” and among the other tracks covered are Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning” and Soundgarden’s “Fell On Black Days.”  Here’s the full track listing:

“Still of the Night” (Whitesnake)
“Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover” (Sophie B. Hawkins)
I Hate Myself For Loving You” (Joan Jett & the Blackhearts)
“Heathens” (Twenty One Pilots)
“Fell On Black Days” (Soundgarden)
“Ride the Lightning” (Metallica)
