Judging from musical trends, everything is cyclical. Topps’ Garbage Pail Kids trading cards are another example of this. Originally launched in 1985 to capitalize on the then-dominant Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, the series were pretty much a parody of the popular dolls, which led the creator to sue Topps. There have been several different runs of the seriesm and while most people probably haven’t thought about them in years, not only are they back in a limited edition, but AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses are involved this time.

A “Best of the Fest” series of cards, themed around the 2016 Summer music festivals, is a limited edition run that’s only going to be available this week. The two GN’R ones, “Overworked Axl” and “Gunnin’ For Rose,” are hysterical, showing members of Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC literally fighting over the singer. Other targets include Morrissey, who’s “Meaty Morrissey” card finds him being attacked by meat products, and “Crying Cure,” which features The Cure sobbing like they’ve been listening to Disintegration on repeat. They’re a little on the pricey side, at $9.99 for two stickers, but they’re limited edition and will probably increase in value if we know anything about Garbage Pail Kids trading cards, which we don’t at all. You can pick them (and the other ones, which include Red Hot Chili Peppers The Arcade Fire and Death Cab for Cutie) here.
