Have you heard of Brioni? You’d be forgiven if you haven’t, as they’re a luxury menswear company from Italy. They’ve just unveiled their latest ad campaign, in which four millionaires in tuxedos and bow ties pose for tasteful black and white photographs. Those four millionaires, however, are Metallica. Photographer Zackery Michael shot the band in San Francisco last month, and while the band’s post on their website says the shoot took inspiration from Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” video, it probably means they took inspiration from the cover of Queen’s second album. They’re also modeling sunglasses from the designer’s collection in some of the photos.

If there are still people left to newly accuse Metallica of being sellouts (which is doubtful), they now have a reason. That being said, Metallica are one of the most recognizable rock bands in the world, and they look iconic whether they’re wearing expensive tuxes or jeans and a t-shirt. Also, it’s not like Metallica have the market cornered on rock stars from the ’80s and ’90s doing fashion shoots – just ask Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell. So if you’re in the market for a $7,000 tux, you can now get one that’s Metallica-approved.
