mymissinghalf

Over the course of five years, My Missing Half has gone from a one-man home-recorded project to a powerful three-piece melodic death metal band. Led by Bijan Hennessey, the band recently released their second EP, A Proper Hangman’s Knot. Back in April, we premiered the video for “The Cell That I Call Home”, and now you can buy or stream the whole EP. Since the Boston area has a healthy and diverse metal scene, we asked the band to give us a glimpse at some of their favorite bands, venues and other things to do while in the New England area.

Favorite Venue: The Palladium, Worcester, MA

We always love playing at The Palladium. It’s the venue we all grew up going to, so playing there is kind of a dream come true. It’s also where we’ve been able to share the stage with some of our favorite bands. The best show we’ve ever played was at The Palladium with Dark Tranquility and Insomnium. We also love playing and attending local shows at Sammy’s Patio, Gemstones, Koto, and The Middle East.

Favorite Area Bands: Lots of them

There are too many great local bands to list, but some of our favorites are Pathogenic, Begat The Nephilim, Sonic Pulse, Carnivora, Manifest, Conforza, Epicenter, Heavy Necker, Don’t Cross The Streams, and Physics of Demise.

The bands that have inspired us the most would be The Black Dahlia Murder, Dark Tranquility, Insomnium, and Gojira.

Things To Do In Boston:

If you’re 5 years old, we highly recommend the duck tour. Other than that, Boston’s only other options would be attending a sports game or sitting in traffic.

You can purchase A Proper Hangman’s Knot on iTunes and stream it below on Spotify.
