Seattle essentially got their own metal supergroup when Ghost Ship Octavius formed back in 2013. Featuring guitarist Matt Wicklund (God Forbid, Himsa) and former Nevermore drummer Van Williams, the band successfully crowdfunded their debut album, a progressive and heavy collection of songs ably fronted by newcomer Adon Fanion’s vocals. The band filmed a video at Seattle’s Studio 7 for one of the more melodic songs on the album, “In Dreams,” that was directed and edited by Fanion. Generally, and artfully-shot performance video, it’s a good indication of what you’ll get to see live, as they kick off several weeks of tour dates starting this Friday (6/3) at Queens, NY venue Blackthorn 51. Here’s what Williams says about the shoot:
“Shooting a video at Studio Seven in Seattle was pretty fun, especially since I practically grew up musically in one of those hot sweaty band rooms for years!:) It was the perfect venue for what we needed. We hope to return to the west coast later in the year, in the meantime we leave for our East Coast tour in a couple of days, so come and join us!!”
Wicklund added:
We are very pleased to release our new music video for “In Dreams” filmed in my hometown of Seattle, WA at the music venue that I’ve called home for so many years. This serves as a good glimpse into the ghostly and Arctic atmosphere that we will be bringing to stages around the world…starting again this week with our upcoming East Coast USA run. We hope to see you all on tour! Thanks for watching and we hope you like what you see and hear!
