A little more information is coming to light about the reported split between Ozzy Osbourne and his wife and manager Sharon. The Sun of London reports that Sharon kicked Ozzy out of their mansion last week for allegedly having an affair with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh. The tabloid says that Ozzy has been staying in the Beverly Hills Hotel, and while his family and friends initially didn’t hear from him for two days, he’s been in touch with his children. The Sun says their source doesn’t think that he’s relapsed, and that he’s stayed at the hotel, which is near his home, when Sharon and him have argued in the past. Here’s what else the source told the paper:
“Sharon went ballistic with Ozzy and accused him of having the affair. She said she had suspected something had been going on for some time and now had proof. People are wondering whether Sharon went through Ozzy’s phone before accusing him. She has done that before but in the past she was checking if he’d been using drugs. Ozzy was extremely sheepish and admitted being close to Michelle. It is likely Sharon has discovered calls and possibly meetings.”
The woman Ozzy’s accused of having an affair with Michelle Pugh, moved to Los Angeles when she was 18 to make it in the music industry. When that didn’t work out, she became a hairstylist. The 45 year-old counts Jennifer Lopez and Alicia Silverstone as her clients, and has styled clients for the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys. On Saturday, she’d cancelled her appointments at salon Meche claiming a “personal emergency.”
Again, the biggest concern for Ozzy is what the duo’s alleged split will do for his career. Sharon has been known as an aggressive manager that doesn’t suffer fools easily. Over the course of her career, she’s replaced Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake’s work on Ozzy’s first two solo albums, cut Iron Maiden’s power at Ozzfest, and others. And while she’s likely making tons of money managing her husband and Black Sabbath, she’s also successfully become a television personality. We’ll see if they patch things up to stay together for his career or whether they decide to move on without each other.
