eight bellsWe have talked about the dangers of touring in the past few weeks like the most recent incident with Cauldron, who were involved in a van accident after playing a show in Texas, leaving their guitarist hospitalized but in steady condition. But the dangers are not limited to the road and can happen even on stage, which was the case of Eight Bells’ guitarist Melynda Jackson who suffered an injury during her last show.

Eight Bells are part of Voivod’s tour with Vektor and, while details aren’t clear as of what exactly caused the incident, the band revealed that their guitarist suffered an injury during their show in Altanta, GA and broke her leg. The statement says the following:

Hello, friends. Unfortunately, there was an incident at our show last night and Melynda was badly injured. This morning, doctors confirmed that her leg is broken. We are terribly sad to say that we cannot play tonight’s show in Knoxville but we will try to make it there in order to support our friends in Voivod and Vektor as well as sell some merch in an attempt to ease some of Melynda’s mounting medical bills.

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to help Jackson pay for her medical bills and you can donate directly to her via PayPal to Melynda.666@gmail.com, to the GoFundMe page or maybe buy their latest album Landless which we think it’s actually really good.

It remains uncertain if the band will continue and finish the remaining dates of the tour but they will wait for the doctor’s update on the injury before making a decision. We wish Jackson a speedy recovery.
