After some weeks from Scott Weiland’s death, many things have occurred, including the arrest of The Wildabouts’ bassist Tommy Black for drug possession after the police found cocaine on the tour bus the day Weiland was found dead. Last week, the toxicology report on Weiland’s passing determined that the former Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver frontman died from an accident overdose and now Black has been released and his drug charges dropped.

Bloomington Police’s Deputy Chief Mike Hartley says the investigation of Black was ended after “weighing what it would take to prove the narcotics charges.” He tells People: “They were found in a bunk, and with several people residing on a bus, a number of people could have potentially possessed those narcotics. So we decided not to pursue charges against him.”

We’re just speculating here but we believe Weiland’s toxicology results influenced the decision to release Black from the charges.
