gtot’s been over four years since Mastodon’s Brent Hinds let the cat out of the bag and announced he was working with The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Benjamin Weinman on a project with former The Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen and Jane’s Addiction’s first bassist Eric Avery. Initially known as Giraffe Tongue, it then became known as Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, and with good reason. As the project gestated, more people’s names were rumored to be involved with it, including actress and singer Juliette Lewis and Alice In Chains’ William Duvall. Avery has stepped away, and now Dethklok bassist Pete Griffin is involved as well. Earlier this year, we got a brief snippet of music from producer Steve Evetts, and yesterday, Hinds made an Instagram post that suggested things would be wrapping up soon. Hinds and Weinman look exhausted, but happy in the shot he took. Who else is in the “orchestra?” Guess we’ll find out pretty soon!
