Bring Me the Horizon took the Studio at Webster Hall by storm on September 15, for a special show put on by Sirius XM’s Octane channel. It was their first U.S. appearance since the release of their fifth studio album That’s the Spirit, this past Friday. The crowd lined the street hours before doors with some fans even hoping to gain entry to the special show and others determined to be at the front of the crowded room. There was a strong mix between industry people there to support a fantastic band and dedicated fans there to celebrate the release of a phenomenal new album in an incredibly intimate venue. Bring Me the Horizon demonstrated why they have garnered the support of so many dedicated fans through their impassioned performance and charismatic stage presence.
BMTH took the stage to the screaming of fans chanting along to the start of “Happy Song” off of That’s the Spirit, clearly very excited for the rest of the evening. They had the entire crowd off their feet from the very beginning. It was evident among the crowd how much this song has already come to mean to fans as they passionately sung every word. From there Bring Me the Horizon went into a few fan favorites from Sempiternal, including, “Shadow Moses”, “House of Wolves”, and “Go to Hell, For Heaven’s Sake.” All three songs received agreat reaction from the crowd last fall when the band was on the Parks and Devastation tour in support of A Day to Remember so it was no surprise to see them make the setlist for this special show. Next up was yet another song off of That’s the Spirit that was released early, “Throne”. Once again, fans seemed to know every word to the new song as if it had been a favorite of theirs for quite some time. The genuinely emotional, “Can You Feel My Heart” followed next with a feeling that can only

really be experienced live, which makes this song something very special. The openness of the song draws fans in and fosters an unmistakable connection between the band and those inattendance. The ability to create such a strong response and reaction among the crowd is one of the many reasons Bring Me the Horizon are a band fans must see live.
“Sleepwalking” and “Antivist” were played next off of Sempiternal. The band left the stage only to return a few moments later to cheers as they played “True Friends” off of their new record, “Blessed with a Curse” an older favorite from their 2010 release

There is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There is a Heaven Lets Keep it a Secret, and “Drown” lead single off of the new record that has been heard on radio stations across New York.
