There are lots of hazards of being a touring band. Usually, they tend to be basic ones: battling hangovers, dealing with shady promoters, getting your van broken into when you play St. Louis, and so on. One wouldn’t expect one of those hazards to be escaping a burning limousine, but that’s where Red Dragon Cartel found themselves yesterday in San Jose, as they were forced to flee the flaming vehicle. The band, which features former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee, were in town to play the RockBar Theater tonight, and were able to escape from the van without incident. According to KTVU, six people, including the entire band, were in the limo when the band and driver noticed an electrical short. As soon as they saw smoke, they pulled over and evacuated the 30 foot limo, which according to bystanders had the RockBar’s logo on it. Two lanes of I-280 were temporarily shut down until the fire was extinguished and the vehicle removed. There were no reports of injuries, and the show should still go on.
Thanks to the quick action of our driver and a little luck on our side, we are all safe and sound. Thanks to everyone for your concern.
