Heavy MTL took place this past weekend and many fantastic bands performed, including Abbath, Neurosis, Beyond Creation, and many more but one of the highlights had to be Ihsahn as it was the first time he took a Canadian stage in 16 long years. To make it an even more special show, the former Emperor frontman decided to play a new song titled “My Heart is of the North,” which our good friends at Metal Injection recorded for everyone’s enjoyment.

It’s been two years since the release of his latest album Das Seelenbrechen so it’s exciting to see new music coming along, considering how busy Ihsahn has been lately with live shows, recording some tracks for Leprous and Trivium, fixing up his studio and running his own label Mnemosyne Productions. Let’s hope we get a new album next year but meanwhile, get a load of this.

Black Metal enthusiast from Los Angeles who thought was a good idea to grab a camera and shoot underground shows for the hell of it. Pseudo-writer with little to no expectations of ever winning a Pulitzer but totally down to write about your unknown band if it's good to my ears. I enjoy long walks on the beach, deep conversation, holding hands and attending Satanic music shows every now and then.
