Technical death pioneers Atheist were set to work on their fifth album until a car pulled in front of drummer Steve Flynn at 50 mph, resulting in Flynn becoming involved in a crash. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance for immediate treatment. Flynn is alive and safe, but he sustained injuries to his jaw, neck, and wrist, and is currently recuperating at his home in Atlanta. He will most likely need to undergo physical therapy to some extent. The effect this will have on the album process of their follow-up to 2010’s comeback album Jupiter is still unclear. However, for now, we wish Flynn a speedy recovery.
