09) Upon Wings – “Scars”

Upon Wings and vocalist Anné Autumn Erickson have shared a video for the new song “Scars,” featuring Slaves on Dope guitarist Kevin Jardine. The track is taken from the group’s upcoming EP. Jardine produced and mixed the beats for the new single, at his Uplift Studios in Canada. The final song was mixed and mastered by R&B artist and recording engineer WinksDaGod in Michigan.

Erickson comments:

“Thematically, this song is about being proud of your scars and what you’ve been through. It’s about letting go of negative influences in your life, whether that means people or anything else that is bringing you down. Be proud of your scars.”

10) Cage Fight – “Shine Don’t Fade”

UK hardcore thrashers Cage Fight, featuring TesseracT guitarist James Monteith and former Eths vocalist Rachel Aspe, have signed with Candelight. The group has announced their debut self-titled album is scheduled to arrive on May 13th. The band has unveiled a video for the first single “Shine Don’t Fade.”

Aspe comments:

“I cherish the ability to channel my anger through this outlet. In a world full of uncertainty and frustration, this type of music was the only thing I found solace and balance in. These songs have a deep meaning for me and I hope this is something that other people can relate to.”

Bassist Jon Reid, adds:

“In the wake of the greatest media heist in modern British times and the fall out of the cataclysmic debacle that is Brexit, it seemed perfect stimulus to write lyrics that confronted the continued world of systemic racism, cultural divide, and an antiquated class system wrapped up with personal mental health issues and the challenges of modern living.”
