01) Predatory Void, Seven Keys to the Discomfort of Being (Century Media)

Unhinged, thoroughly depressed, and angry at the same time, listening to Predatory Void’s debut Seven Keys to the Discomfort of Being forced an emotional response I wasn’t prepared for. Debatably the best offering from any of the Amenra/Church of Ra-adjacent bands to date – a bold statement considering the output of these bands over the years – Predatory Void delivers death, doom, sludge, and blackened blasts across seven perfectly paced abrasive songs. Sure, I need to take my antidepressants and cuddle my cat after I spin this one, but good music should make you feel.
