As a band that’s as well known for their image as their music, Ghost know how to make a music video. That’s on display in the just-released video for “Cirice.” Beginning out with a ’70’s-looking film stock, it documents a childhood rite of passage – the elementary school talent show. Dog tricks, hula hoops, they’re all there, until mini-Ghost pops up to play their single, coerces a girl onstage, and more or less turns her into Carrie. While the “kids as a metal band” thing has been done before by Kvelertak, this video is creepier and has much better production values than “Braun Brenne.”
Meliora will be released on August 21 on Loma Vista Recordings. It can be preordered here.
