Some bands need no introduction, because their story speaks for itself. Nightwish is one such band, and today, they have unleashed another new album onto the unsuspecting masses. Prepare yourselves!
Nightwish, Endless Forms Most Beautiful (Nuclear Blast)
Nightwish is back with album number eight, and their first album with new singe Floor Jansen (ReVamp, ex-After Forever). This is also the first official album for wind player Troy Donockley, and sadly, the first album not to feature drummer Jukka Nevalainen, who was sidelined from the recording process with severe insomnia (ed. note: we’d bet his nightwish is getting some sleep!). However, Wintersun drummer Kai Hahto has filled in for this album, which all but guarantees that the drumming will still be stellar.
Prong, Songs from the Black Hole (eOne)
For the better part of three decades, Prong has been kicking ass and slaying crowds on their own terms, bucking trends and doing what feels right to them. Now they’re set to release a covers album that will show everyone exactly why their music sounds as unique and interesting as it does. Some covers will make perfect sense (Fugazi, Black Flag), while others will definitely turn heads (Neil Young, Butthole Surfers). Regardless, though, this album has everything you’d expect from a Prong album, plus a whole lot more. Read a bit more about what went into making the album with our exclusive interview here.
We Are Harlot, We Are Harlot (Roadrunner)
How much does Danny Worsnop believe in We Are Harlot? Well, he left Asking Alexandria (and essentially, a giant sum of money) to front the young rock group, so I guess he expects the band to do extremely well. This self-titled album is their debut release for the world.
