Less than two weeks after releasing their new EP, Reckoning, Los Angeles hardcore quintet Rotting Out have broken up. The band’s frontman Walter Delgado posted posted the following Wednesday night:

“Rotting Out broke up last Sunday. Thanks to anyone whoever cared. It was a great ride and a privelige. Don’t ask why. Thank you everyone.”

The band followed up on Facebook, stating “Shout out to all you that have ever supported us in any way! We love you all!” It appears that their last show was in Texas on the day they broke up, at South by So What. It’ll be interesting to hear why it happened, since from the outside, it appears to have gone down seemingly from out of nowhere. The band’s immediate shows, which included the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and this summer’s Vans Warped Tour, are obviously off. Rotting Out formed in 2007, releasing several 7″ singles, two full lengths and their most recent EP.
