It is official: AC/DC will be performing at this year’s Grammy Awards. While they haven’t announced many tour dates, especially here in the United States, this will be their first US performance in support of Rock or Bust. It will be their first ever performance on the Grammy stage. They’ll be performing at Coachella in April.
AC/DC had been nominated seven times overall, but it wasn’t until 2010 when they won their first Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance for their song “War Machine.” That same year their album Black Ice lost to Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown.
This is a good start to 2015 for band, who had a rocky 2014; their new album Rock Or Bust came out, but it was without guitarist Malcom Young, who left the group due to health issues. Then drummer Phil Rudd had some brushes with the law, bringing into question his future with the band. It’ll be interesting to see if Rudd is behind the drum kit during their Grammy performance on Sunday, February 8th. He’s claimed that he wants his job back. He’s due in court on February 10th, two days after the Grammys.
