Well this is cute. There’s a Las Vegas teenager named Corey Taylor that hosts her own talk show on Vegasallnetradio, “Corey Taylor Talks.” Given that her name is Corey Taylor, it was only a matter of time until she caught up with the other Corey Taylor, of Slipknot and Stone Sour fame. That actually happened recently, and it seems like she was actually well-prepared enough for the interview, since she got him to talk about a few hot-button items, including the identity of their bassist, which is shrouded in mystery, but is pretty well-known by now that it’s almost definitely Alessandro Venturella, also of Krokodil. When that was breached by Taylor, Taylor responded:

“They’re not official band members yet, but they are people who play with the band. Time will tell whether or not they’re, like, full members. With this band, you earn everything. You’re not just given that shot; you have to earn it. And so far, they’re doing really well. And we’re really enjoying jamming with them. But we’re keeping it kind of on the DL, but not really, ’cause somebody already pointed out the tattoos. I was, like, ‘Why didn’t we make him wear gloves?’ I was so upset. I was, like, we thought of all this stuff. We put the hood on him and then the mask, and it was, like, ‘It’s really hot, guys,’ And then there is his tattoos for everybody. I was, like, ‘Well, we missed the mark on that one.’”

So there you have it. Alessandro is the bassist, and no one knows who the drummer is, except for everybody. But with the album coming out in only a few weeks, it’s a matter of time until they formally reveal the rhythm section’s identities. Then again, the band might just stay numbers, and they might not officially make any announcement of the sort. And not surprisingly, Taylor also revealed that the burning camel shit idea is all Clown’s. Does he or Taylor really think that Slipknot fans “love” the smell of burning fecal matter?
