Carc_SurgTour_AdmatWhile everyone’s thrown up their “Best of the Year so far” posts already, a slot’s pretty much automatically been reserved for Carcass’ long-awaited comeback album, Surgical Steel. And after hearing “Captive Bolt Pistol,” that slot’s pretty much been upgraded to “top 3.” Early reviews of the album haven’t dampened our enthusiasm for it any. A comeback album that’s actually not only good, but way better than expected? What could possibly be better? How about a tour that will bring them to five extremely small venues?

Among the four US dates is a show at Brooklyn’s St. Vitus. That place is TINY. Thankfully, they’ll be playing New York’s Gramercy Theater the following day, so it’s not like people won’t get a chance to see them, but that Brooklyn show will sell out by the time it takes for tickets to go on sale. Shit, there are probably people lined up outside Vitus to buy tickets now. They’ve also lined up some great openers as well. This will presumably be followed by a much longer tour down the road, but if you’re in Calgary, NYC, Chicago or Los Angeles, you’re in luck. Check out the dates below:

9/21 Mac Hall Ballroom – Calgary, AB
9/23 Reggie’s – Chicago, IL (w/ MACABRE)
9/23 Saint Vitus – Brooklyn, NY (w/ IMMOLATION)
9/26 Gramercy Theatre – New York, NY (w/ IMMOLATION)
9/28 The Troubadour – Los Angeles, CA (w/ EXHUMED)
