Megadeth is slated to release its new album, Super Collider, on June 4 via its new T-Boy Records/UMe imprint Tradecraft. And now we not only have our first taste of new material, but also a glimpse at the album’s cover.

Dave Mustaine and crew revealed the cover artwork seen above via an online game. The website also includes an audio snippet of a new song called “Don’t Turn Your Back.” First, let’s talk about the cover. To be honest, it doesn’t exactly live up to Megadeth’s legacy of killer cover artwork. At the same time, it’s definitely a lot better than the rumored cover that leaked last month (and still more interesting looking than the original Risk cover). As for the song, while it’s hard to base anything on less than 60 seconds, we definitely like what we hear thus far (solid riff and a memorable chorus, at leas the half that can be heard).

Head over to megadethgame.com now to hear the sample of “Don’t Turn Your Back,” and if you want to play the game even though you’ve already seen the cover. Super Collider is already available for pre-order via Amazon.
