When we spoke to singer Erlend Hjelvik and guitarist Vidar Landa, they revealed that a North American tour was in the works for Kvelertak. And yesterday, the Norwegian metal group announced plans to tour with Cancer Bats and Black Tusk.
The April/May trek marks Kvelertak’s first tour Stateside in support of their new album Meir, due out on March 25 via Roadrunner Records. And while the trek finds the three bands hitting a nice chunk of major markets, apparently there’s still more dates to be announced. Regardless, they had us at “Kverlertak is touring,” let alone that Cancer Bats and Black Tusk are joining them as well. All three bands kill it live, but from the second we saw Kvelertak about two years ago at SXSW, their intense live show had us.
