Austin stoner metal group The Sword has been with Kemado Records since their debut album, 2006’s Age Of Winters. That’s no longer the case, however, as The Sword have signed a new deal with Razor & Tie.
“We’re delighted to welcome The Sword to Razor & Tie. They’re a special band and unique signing for us. We’re looking forward to making an incredible record together and continuing to grow the band’s brand on a global level,” commented John Franck, SVP of Marketing for Razor & Tie. This marks yet another big grab for the label, who recently added bands like Shadows Fall and P.O.D. to their roster.
The plan is for The Sword (along with their new drummer) to continue recording their new album while eyeing a Fall 2012 release date. The band is also expecting to do extensive world touring in support of the album, in addition to their upcoming appearance at Metallica’s Orion Music And More festival. Here’s hoping that we’ll get to hear some new material from The Sword very soon.
