Puscifer, the ever-evolving project led by Maynard James Keenan, alongside Mat Mitchell and Carina Round, will return with Normal Isn’t, their first new album in over five years, scheduled to arrive on February 6, 2026, via Puscifer Entertainment / Alchemy Recordings / BMG. To coincide with the announcement, the group has shared a video for the album’s lead single, “Self Evident.” The clip was filmed during an intimate August performance at Exchange L.A., where the band debuted the album in full.
Written and recorded across Arizona, Los Angeles, and while on their Sessanta tour, Normal Isn’t finds Puscifer exploring darker beats inspired by their post-punk roots. Guest contributors include Greg Edwards, Danny Carey, and Tony Levin, among others. The band will support the release with a North American tour set for spring 2026, kicking off on March 20 in Las Vegas and concluding at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale Friday (24) at 10:00 AM.
Keenan comments:
“We’re definitely leaning into our early influences. It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from.”
Round adds:
“Instead of just saying, ‘I want this to sound like Fleetwood Mac on cocaine if they had a baby with PJ Harvey,’ Maynard was showing us his intention, which was really cool. In Puscifer, any idea can totally change without any preciousness, and everybody is on board – not unlike an insane asylum. We found each other because we’re demented in a symbiotic way.”
Mitchell states:
“From the outset, we had discussed an element of rawness and edge, which guitar brings. We got rid of the guard rails and made the music more aggressive.”
Keenan concludes:
“Normal Isn’t reflects this time we are living in. As storytellers and artists, our job is to observe, interpret, and report. We take in our environment and share what we see, and what we see around us does not appear normal. Not by a long shot.”
