System of a Down paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on Wednesday (27th) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, performing a cover of the Black Sabbath classic “Snowblind.” The song was last played live by the band in 2002 and originally appeared on the 2000 tribute compilation Nativity in Black II.

Before going into the track, guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian shared the following to the massive crowd:

“When we first started out, they put us on the road and we toured. And New York, New Jersey are some of the first places we toured in the United States. And there was one tour that never did more for System of A Down: the Ozzfest. We did a few Ozzfests. Some of you are old enough that you were there. Some of you weren’t even born yet. I wanna thank Ozzy Osbourne. We wanna thank Ozzy Osbourne. We’re gonna do a number now about cocaine. It’s called ‘Snowblind’.”

Due to popular demand, System of a Down held two nights at MetLife. The second took place on Thursday (28th) with a similar setlist, including “Snowblind” once again. The group also brought back “Tentative” from 2005’s Hypnotize, which hadn’t been played live since 2015.
