Vinnie Paul was laid to rest this past Saturday (30th) at a private funeral ceremony. He was buried in a Kiss Kasket at the Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, TX, the same cemetery where his brother Dimebag and mother were buried. Sirius XM’s Jose Mangin spoke at the service, and revealed the following via Instagram stating:
“Far beyond honored to be asked to speak at my idol/friend’s funeral yesterday and represent #VinniePaul fans worldwide🙏🏽 This image taken after laying our hero to rest with family @dimebagzhag friend #nickbowcott and VP & Dimebag’s idol #acefrehley #kiss – Nick started off the services, Vin’s close friend Tim next, then me (!?!?!), then I introduced Ace, who brought up Paul singer from Rough Cut who sang, then Nick closed it out. It was all very surreal and hard to handle, but everyone in that place had so much love for Vinnie and being around each other helped us heal. #ripvinniepaul”
The public celebration of life of the late Pantera/HellYeah drummer was held the next day (1st) at the Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas. For those who were unable to attend, the event was livestreamed and video is still available, which you can watch below.
During the celebration, Philip Anselmo briefly spoke about his former Pantera bandmate via a previously recorded video, expressing:
“Vince, always have love in my heart for you, man Rest in peace.”
Vinnie Paul died on June 22nd at his home in Las Vegas. While his cause of death remains unknown, a police report states it “did not appear suspicious.”
