The Dead Kennedys’ 1981 single “Nazi Punks Fuck Off” was an iconic song when it came out, but when Napalm Death covered the song in 1993, it became one of their best-known songs too. Given that the alt-right movement, which is pretty much Nazism under a different name, seems to be thriving right now given last weekend’s Charlottesville gathering and the President’s assertion that they’re “very fine people,” the song is more relevant than ever in 2017.
Napalm Death, for their part, have announced that they’ll be selling a special “Nazi Punks Fuck Off” t-shirt and long-sleeved shirt, which will benefit the American Civil Liberties Union and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Out of the $20 shirts (and $30 long-sleeved), $5 each will go both groups. It’s a great way to fight hate and support Napalm Death at the same time.
