It would appear that young Wolfgang Van Halen has found something to preoccupy himself while his dad’s health concerns force Van Halen to postpone tour plans. It’s been revealed that starting this week, Wolfgang will be playing bass in Mark Tremonti’s solo band. The Van Halen bassist made his debut in the Creed/Alter Bridge guitarist’s band this past Tuesday night (September 11) at Rock Junction in West Greenwich, RI.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering that Wolfgang and Tremonti have been longtime friends. In fact, Tremonti was one of the musicians Van Halen beta tested A Different Kind Of Truth for. In case you’re curious as to what Tremonti and Wolfgang sound like live, you can check out a short clip of their rehearsals last Tuesday at the Eve To Adam loft in Queens, NY above. A complete rundown of Tremonti’s solo dates can be seen on his website.
