Most people love listening to music. Whether you’re going to school, work, the gym, or studying synths for metal beginners, the right music can help you prepare for the task ahead. However, it is important to understand that each person will have unique preferences when it comes to the music they love. Heavy metal is a unique genre that has attracted millions of hardcore fans. The genre was developed during the late 1960s in the United States and the United Kingdom. It is impossible to ignore pioneers of the genre including Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin.

Plus, there are many notable metal bands. Below, readers will learn more about some of the best metal bands of all time.

Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath is undoubtedly one of the best metal bands ever. The metal band was formed in Birmingham, England in 1968. At the time, it included Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, Ozzy Osbourne, and Geezer Butler. The band was active from 1968 to 2006. It reunited in 2011 and performed until 2017. However, the band went through many changes after Ozzy departed in 1979. Iommi was the only member who stuck with the band from start to finish. The band produced some of the best metal songs ever.

Some of the band’s best songs include Paranoid, Black Sabbath, Iron Man, and War Pigs. A betting man would visit sportwette and bet on you remembering one or more of these songs. Black Sabbath helped create the genre and springboard Ozzy Osbourne into one of the greatest rockers in history.

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin is another notable English band that helped build the genre. The band was formed in London in 1968 and remained active until 1980. However, it has had several reunions over the years. During its inception, the band included Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, John Bonham, and Jimmy Page. Although it produced many heavy metal songs, it experimented with other genres as well. For instance, Led Zeppelin also created blues and folk music. It is hard to ignore this band since it was so successful during its heyday.

Some of its most notable songs include Good Times Bad Times, Ramble On, Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song, and Dazed and Confused. The band helped define the genre because it became a worldwide success.

Deep Purple

Suffice to say, England created the metal genre thanks to bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple. The latter was formed in Hertfordshire in 1968. It is widely considered one of the pioneers of the heavy metal genre. However, it is important to remember that the group’s musical approach changed significantly over the years. They started out creating progressive rock and psychedelic rock tunes. The 1970 album Deep Purple in Rock was heavier. The band was active until 1976 before reuniting in 1984.

In the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records, the band was named the “globe’s loudest band”. Although it has produced many great songs, the most popular is Smoke on the Water. Other great songs from Deep Purple include Highway Star, Soldier of Fortune, Knocking at Your Back Door, and Rainbow in the Dark.

Metallica

Although the aforementioned bands were popular, Metallica helped make the heavy metal genre mainstream. The band was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1981. Since then, it has worked hard to continue pushing the genre forward. The band has had many members of the years, including Dave Mustaine, Cliff Burton, and Jason Newsted. However, current members include Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, and James Hetfield. While the band is getting older, it remains active and just as heavy as ever. Besides producing some of the best metal songs, the band was also featured in the 2004 documentary Metallica: Some Kind of Monster.

Slayer

Finally, you have the American thrash metal band Slayer. The band was founded in Huntington Park, California in 1981. At the time, the members were Kerry King, Dave Lombardo, Tom Araya, and Jeff Hanneman. The group’s album artwork and lyrics often focused on genocide, torture, murder, serial killers, organized time, terrorism, and racism. The band pushed the genre further than other groups with songs like Raining Blood, Seasons in the Abyss, South of Heaven, Dead Skin Mask, and Bloodline.
