Static-x has just announced the discovery of additional studio tracks recorded by the late Wayne Static. On November 1, 2014 Wayne Static died at the age of 48, a year after Static-X had officially announced its break up. The remaining members, bassist Tony Campos, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay announced last year that they would reunite to record a new album in Static’s honor called Project Regeneration. The album was to feature guest vocalists including David Draiman of Disturbed, Al Jourgensen of Ministry, Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory and others. All that has changed with the discovery of these new tracks recorded by Static. Of the 12 tracks announced for the new record, Wayne Static’s vocals will now appear on at least half of them resulting in fewer guest vocalists.

Project Regeneration will feature new songs written either wholly or in part by Wayne Static. The band is using pre sales of the album to help fund its creation. Head over to Staic-x.org for more information.

The band has also been announced a tour for this year in support of the new record and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band’s platinum selling debut, “Wisconsin Death Trip“. You can find all of the announced dates below.

Ken, Tony, and Kiochi released a video revealing what fans will see on their upcoming tour, although a name has yet to be announced. Take a look.

The band issued the following statement:

“Thank you to EVERYONE who has participated in PROJECT REGNERATION thus far!!!
The response has been UNBELIEVABLE!

We wanted to take a moment to update everyone on where things are at with the new album..

WE HAVE AMAZING NEWS!!
-After announcing Project Regeneration to the world, we unexpectedly uncovered even more unreleased tracks left behind by Wayne..
-Because of this, the album will have fewer guest vocalists and more complete songs featuring lead vocals by Wayne Static…
-In the end, we couldn’t be more excited about the music that we are making together
and we know that Wayne would be honored and proud.
-These extra tracks creates allot of unexpected work for us and for our producers. As a result, our timeline has been thrown off a little bit.

RIGHT NOW:
-We are focused on finishing 12 tracks for Project Regeneration.
-Waynes Lead Vocals will appear on more than half of the album..
-Waynes finger prints and those of the original WDT lineup are all over this record.
-We will be releasing several music / video clips in the coming weeks, so that we can begin to share our progress..

RELEASE DATE:
-We are very sorry for the delay and we want to thank everyone for your patience..
-We are in the process of finalizing a label partner, in order to ensure that “Project Regeneration” will be promoted and distributed worldwide, just like all previous Static-X albums..
-Unfortunately, until we finalize our label partner, we are unable to release a full song / single, but we promise that we will release one AS SOON AS POSSIBLE..
-While many people were excited by the music in the teaser, we want to clarify that those clips were “works in progress”..
-We have been working diligently to complete these works, while also preparing for the upcoming tour.
-Please note that ALL merchandise purchased from our webstore ships out immediately..
-The only items that have yet to ship are those associated with the “Pre Order” for Project Regeneration..

MORE TOUR DATES
-The demand for the 20th anniversary WDT tour has been overwhelming…
-We are in the process of booking additional dates for later this year as we intend to hit many of the regions that we were unable to get to with the first tour announce..

THANK YOU
-Thank you so much for all of the love and support!!
-20 Years of Static-X and Wisconsin Death Trip is just unbelievable to us!!!

Thank you!
Tony, Ken, Koichi, and of course Wayne…”

Additionally, Static-X has extended their tour as they announced European tour dates. During the announcement, they revealed the touring vocalist is heard and somewhat seen in the below video:

The group addressed:

“We are super excited to announce that we will be taking The Wisconsin Death Trip 20th Anniversary Tour around the world..

In addition to the first leg of the North American Tour, UK, Europe, Australia, and Pacific Northwest dates have just been announced..

“Everyone wants to know who will be singing and how we will be pulling off the material live…. Well, here it is. Watch this video and you will see and hear exactly what we will be doing on the tour.”

“For us, the goal was 100% about recapturing the vibe and the spirit of STATIC-X. We were never interested in using a hologram or using Wayne’s pre-recorded vocals. It has to be real and it has to have a soul and a pulse. STATIC-X has always been four guys. Two guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. We didn’t want to mess with that formula. This is the most electric version of Wisconsin Death Trip 2.0 that we can imagine, without actually having Wayne here with us.”

“We look forward to celebrating the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip with you all, as we pay our respects to Wayne each night around the world”

Watch the video to learn more…”

The following singers have been rumored/guessed by fans as Static-X’s touring vocalist:

Edsel Dope (Dope)

Dez Fafara (DevilDriver)

Chad Gray (HellYeah)

Who do you think it is?
