Spylacopa streaming entire Parallels album

Posted by on March 31, 2015

The new Spylacopa album, Parallels, is offically out and can be streamed below. Candiria guitarist John LaMacchia is the sole official member of the Spylacopa, but works with former ISIS bassist Jeff Caxide and Made Out of Babies vocalist Julie Christmas on this release, among others. It’s been since 2008 when the band released their self-titled EP, as it was the tragic death of their drummer Troy Young that slowed the explosive band.

LaMacchia talked to Metal Riot about coming back to Spylacopa since the passing of Young:

“This may be the last recordings of Troy in a professional setting! The thing is though, the subject matter of these songs does not reflect the tragedy of Troy’s death. This is a Spylacopa record and Troy happened to played drums most of the songs that make up the material on it and he would have wanted this record to come out as it was intended to from the artists perspective no matter how off the wall some of the subject matter may be.”

Candiria bassist Michael MacIvor plays on track two, with LaMacchia assuming main vocal duties throughout the project’s first full length album. Former collaborator Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan is not on this release as he, “has a bunch of other stuff going on,” said LaMacchia, “and is at this point not related to this project.”
