Spinal Tap hint at 2014 Reunion

ThisisspinaltapposterThe world’s loudest rock band Spinal Tap are teasing their public, hinting at a 2014 resurgence. Christopher Guest, aka Mr. Nigel Tufnel, spoke of future possibilities with the fictitious English metal band when interviewed by The Guardian to promote his new television sitcom Family Tree.

“We get asked to do shows on a regular basis. But what I will say is that we’re in the midst of talking about something for next year…, he said.

Fans have not been left completely void of the band since Spinal Tap did perform at Glastonbury in 2009 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of the mock rockumentary all about them, This Is Spinal Tap. The cult classic turns 30 years old in 2014, when the band is hinting at performances.

Until next year, fans can settle for the vinyl version of the movie’s score and in the meantime ponder what Spinal Tap’s future really may be with some words of wisdom from David St. Hubbins, immortalized in the film.

“Well, I don’t really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It’s like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how – what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what’s stopping it, and what’s behind what’s stopping it? So, what’s the end, you know, is my question to you.”
