Deicide-in-the-Minds-of-Evil-620x620Black Friday is just around the corner, and many stores have begun running Black Friday deals that last the entire week. This is the perfect time to buy new music, either for yourself or as a planned holiday gift! Check out this week’s new options below!

Deicide, In the Minds of Evil (Century Media)

Deicide’s eleventh full-length album is the first to feature new guitarist Kevin Quirion, who joined the band in 2011 after the release of To Hell With God. Quirion had previously been a touring fill-in for the band on and off since 2008, helping fill the spot of the man he eventually replaced, Ralph Santolla.

Black Sabbath, Live… Gathered In Their Masses (Republic)

Black Sabbath’s reunion with Ozzy Osbourne this year for 13 was commemorated with a live concert film. Out on video, or as DVD/CD and Blu-Ray/CD, there’s also a deluxe box set that we’re giving away. Enter to win it here.

A Day to Remember, Common Courtesy (Self-released)

After a long, hard-fought battle with their former label, Victory Records, A Day to Remember finally won the right to self-release their fifth album in October. Although legal action is still ongoing and no official ruling has been issued, ADTR has elected to go forward with the release of Common Courtesy, which has apparently been in the works since mid-to-late 2011.

Puscifer, What Is… (Puscifer Entertainment)

This new DVD that is part concert and part comedy show might provide some insight into what the band is about, but according to Maynard James Keenan, it’s designed to raise just as many questions as it does answers. The soundtrack is also available for those that might just want the audio.

Epica, Retrospect (Nuclear Blast)

Epica celebrated their tenth anniversary this year with a huge live event in Eindhoven on March 23rd. This release chronicles the entire concert – over three hours of live music – on two DVD’s. It also includes three CD’s with the concert audio.

Hell, Curse & Chapter (Nuclear Blast)

The heavy metal band with a huge underground following has been making a name for themselves recently, outside of their cult following. Promotion for Curse & Chapter came in the form of Hell supporting Amon Amarth and Carcass for a full European tour, which surely helped the band reach many new ears.

Artillery, Legions (Metal Blade)

Since their latest reunion in 2007, Artillery has remained consistently active and had a fairly stable lineup. However, Legions does feature two new members – drummer Joshua Madsen has replaced Carsten Nielsen, and Michael Bastholm Dahl has taken over vocals after the departure of Søren Adamsen.

Generation Kill, We’re All Gonna Die (Nuclear Blast)

Generation Kill is the side project of Exodus vocalist Rob Dukes. He co-founded the band in 2008, alongside veteran thrasher Rob Moschetti (ex-M.O.D., ex-Pro-Pain). We’re All Gonna Die is the follow-up to 2011’s Red, White and Blood.

Next Week: As we move towards the end of the year, power metal releases dominate the list. Find out who’s at the top next week! And to our US readers that are celebrating this week, have a happy Thanksgiving with your families and loved ones!
