When’s Tool going to stop being awesome? Well, it’s been ten years since they release an album, so probably about five years ago for a lot of people. However, until that next album is released, they’ve still got an awesome body of music. Among that is “Schism,” from 2001’s LateralusMetamorphestra is a 40-piece orchestra that covers non-classical music, and have just launched a kickstarter for their debut album, The Ship of Theseus. Why should you pony up? Well, the ensemble has released a video of their cover of the Tool track and it’s really impressive. You could have never heard Tool in your life and think that the band’s nearly nine-minute cover is a modern classical piece. It’s absolutely breathtaking.

The orchestra, which was founded by Nick Proch this year, has also shared their cover of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name,” and also plan on covering songs by System of a Down, Deftones, Radiohead and The Mars Volta.
