According to The Boston Phoenix, Dustin Hengst, drummer of the Boston-based rock band Damone, has passed away. Details are scarce, and there’s no cause of death at this point in time. The band was together from 2002-2008, and may be best-known for their 2006 Island album Out Here All Night, which not only contained the single of the same name, but also ended with a rad acoustic cover of Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years,” which you can see below. The death was confirmed by former vocalist Noelle LeBlanc’s Facebook fan page.

“Damn. It’s a really sad day,” guitarist Mike Woods said in a statement. “I don’t even know what to say. Thanks for all the memories. I’m gonna miss you my brother.”

“Tonight, I lost one of my best friends,” bassist Vazquez said. “Dustin was such a huge talent. Damone would never have existed without him. We got to see so much of the world together. We experienced everything that comes with rock & roll and life on the road. How he is at peace and on to the next world. Rest in peace brother…”
