Cynic to be joined by bassist Sean Malone for first time in 20 years

Fans of Cynic are already excited that they’ll be touring behind Kindly Bent to Free Us in July and August. Now, there’s more of a reason to get excited, especially if you’re an old school fan of the band. It was announced yesterday via drummer Sean Reinert’s Facebook page that bassist Chapman Stick player Sean Malone will be playing with the band for the first time since the Focus era:

Looking forward to playing these shows with Sean Malone on bass/stick while Brandon enjoys fatherhood. The last time we shared the stage with Sean was almost 20 years ago at the Limelight in NYC (June 24th 1994).

Yep, so the tour that most prog geeks were looking forward to just got awesomer. Reinert also posted the above video. Here are those dates again:
